You may be surprised to learn that Cambridge is home to one of Minnesota’s up‑and‑coming trading card shows — a gathering that’s quickly becoming a staple for collectors across the region. Founded in 2020 by local collectors Jack Cole and Aaron Fingal, the Cambridge Card Show has steadily grown in size, reputation, and community impact.
This past Saturday’s event featured 60 tables filled with a mix of sports cards and TCG (trading card games such as Pokémon). The variety is part of what makes this show special. Whether you’re a longtime collector, a casual hobbyist, or someone just curious about the world of cards, there’s always something interesting to browse. The show regularly attracts dealers and collectors from all over Minnesota — many from the metro, but also from much farther out. At this month’s show, one dealer made the trip from South Dakota, and another from Crosby, highlighting just how far the show’s reach has grown.
As someone who has attended many times, I can say it’s consistently a fun, welcoming event. It strikes a great balance: big enough to draw established dealers, yet friendly and accessible for new sellers who are just getting started. One of today’s highlights was meeting Collin, a young man setting up as a dealer for the very first time. His business, Prime Time Pulls, features one of the most professional‑looking tables I’ve seen at any show — all funded with his own hard‑earned money. Collin was selling sports cards and mystery packs he created himself, and he also produces entertaining hobby content you can follow on Facebook and YouTube. His enthusiasm and drive are exactly the kind of energy that makes the Cambridge Card Show special.
Beyond the cards themselves, the show has a genuinely fun community vibe. The Cambridge Lions Club is onsite serving concessions, which adds to the welcoming, hometown feel. And with the show held at Cambridge Primary School roughly every other month, it’s an easy stop for locals to browse, trade, or simply enjoy the energy of the hobby. My own highlight today was picking up a sharp little set of Spellbound Justin Jefferson cards — a perfect ending to another great visit.
The Cambridge Card Show is a great example of a local event growing the right way: rooted in community, friendly to newcomers, and steadily earning attention from collectors across Minnesota.
